This Redwood Wood Mantel Clock is handmade and has a fun grain and character. This wonderful northern California housewarming gift or anniversary gift also makes a great redwood souvenir. Notice those bright wavy areas on the clock? That is referred to as curly wood and fairly rare in Redwood.
Measurements are approximately 13.25" at longest point x 4.75" at tallest point and about 1.75" thick.
This style of shelf clock is referred to as an insert clock because the clock mechanism pops out to insert/change the battery and then you pop the mechanism back in. The easiest way to "pop it out" is to use a thick pen like a black marks-a lot with the FLAT bottom at the back of the clock through the hole we've provided. Requires one "AA" battery which is not provided.
When putting the battery in, try angling it...starting it so the positive end angles in first. That should give you the leverage you need. It IS a tight fit, but should work just fine if positive end firmly goes in first.
Please note each clock may have it's own unique wood "flaws," etc. What one person considers a flaw, another person considers character. We try to give as many photos and angles of the clock as we can. Please be sure to look at all photos. Note: Coloring can vary so much based on lighting, angle, etc. we attempt to take more than one photo of the clocks we sell so you can see them from more than one angle and light source, if possible.
Clocks will be shipped via USPS, UPS, or FedEx. Carrier will be decided at time of shipment.
